Bali has long held a special place in my heart.  The much anticipated destination of my first overseas adventure with my girlfriends fresh out of school, and for the past 12 years, the location of my leather manufacturer for my clothing and accessory label Hideseekers

After a three year hiatus due to Covid, it was pure happiness to be back in the Island of the Gods.  Chaotic yet simultaneously chilled, intoxicatingly warm and fragrant, full of smiling faces and mixed accents, beaches and temples, surfers, scooters and bedraggled dogs, it truly feels like my home away from home.

WHERE WE STAYED -

There is no shortage of villa accomodation available in Bali, but securing a spot that is both central to the beaches and cafes, as well as offering some privacy and respite from all the scooter traffic and roadside hustle takes a bit more research.   Air conditioning and high speed Wifi is also a must!  We were lucky enough to discover the gorgeous Villa Magnolia- a freshly renovated boho-chic villa, located in the heart of Canggu.  This chic, tropical plant filled villa, has a private pool with outdoor shower and a cozy rooftop lounge where you can enjoy watching the kites flutter overhead at dusk while sipping on an ice-cold Bintang.

WHAT I WORE -

I travelled up to Bali excited to wear-test my latest Hideseekers collection, and get some much needed Vitamin D.  With the temperature sitting around 29 degrees, it's too hot to layer anything other than jewellery, so I keep it simple and pack Cotton Tanks, Silk separates, multiple Bikinis and my favourite gemstone bracelets and necklaces from TigerFrame and Vania.

WHAT WE ATE -

When your partner is a Chef, you eat well, (and often!), so we went up to Bali with a hit-list, and did our best to sample, taste and drink it all in!  Personal favourites, in no particular order, were the Foie Gras Parfait at Santanera,  BBQ Bone Marrow on Toast at Skool Kitchen, outdoor kitchen setting and Polycitrus Daiquiri at Shelter, and the incredible Banoffee Souffle at Bar Vera. Breakfast most mornings saw us perched up at the counter at Rise and Shine with a Breakfast Bowl and Coffee watching the world go by…

WHAT WE SOURCED -

Bali is always a combination of work and pleasure, and this trip was no exception.  As well as visiting my Leather factory for fittings and sampling new designs, we shopped at the local accessory and trims suppliers, selected more jewellery for Luxe, and purchased some fantastic 'dead-stock' designer fabrics, that we will showcase in next seasons Edit.
