For SS20 we turn to Palm Springs with it’s pinch of old Hollywood glamour and New Cool. In the early 1920s, Hollywood stars adopted Palm Springs as a place to escape the craziness of Tinseltown. They were wowed by the fine weather, laid-back vibe and views of the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains. It was also close enough to comply with the ‘two-hour rule’ stipulating actors under contract had to be on call if needed by the studio. It soon became a haven for the Hollywood set.
Nobody has captured our imagination more than Marilyn Monroe. From a troubled beginning which saw her spend years in and out of foster care, she went on to become one of the most famous actresses in the world, with her films grossing more than $200 million dollars while personally winning three Golden Globes.
